SNAP-8
SNAP-8 (acetyl octapeptide-3) is a synthetic peptide that inhibits the formation of the SNARE complex required for neurotransmitter vesicle fusion at the neuromuscular junction. By attenuating acetylcholine release, it reduces the intensity of facial muscle contractions that lead to dynamic wrinkle formation. It is widely incorporated into cosmeceutical formulations as a topical alternative to botulinum toxin for expression line reduction.
